Background
Prior to his current role, Rod Grozier held various positions with the YMCA of the USA, most recently as Associate Director for Facility Design and Development. Over the past 10 years, he has provided consultation on several hundred community recreation centers, including YMCAs, college recreation centers and JCC’s. These projects range in value from $1/2 million renovation projects to $10 million joint venture developments.

His involvement with these projects included direction in site selection, feasibility analysis, pre-construction services, programming, architect selection, contract negotiation, design consultation and construction document review.

Until 1998, Grozier served on the Recreation Access Advisory Committee. Commissioned by the U.S. Department of Justice, under the direction of the United States Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board, the Committee is responsible for establishing national guidelines for accessible design in recreational, sports and leisure facilities.

Prior to 1991, Grozier practiced architecture with two multi-disciplinary firms in Philadelphia, including the Rothschild Company Architects.

Affiliations and Education
A graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, with degrees in science and architecture, Grozier is a licensed architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Additionally, he serves on the national Board of Governors for the Human Rights Campaign.

Grozier is also a member of the Chicago Cultural Center and the Chicago Architectural Foundation.
